How does the crimson perform as subwoofer cable as i am bidding for it and how much does it usually go pls, need advice as got only a couple of days to decide

Very good - delivered noticeable improvements for me over the freebie cable I was using before (though I've not compared it against others in the same price bracket). How long is the one you're bidding for? See here for prices, but it obviously depends on the length...

Andrew Everard:Chord says its Crimson Plus is better for subwoofer applications, as its improved shielding makes it even more suitable for long runs.

Good to see they've finally picked up on the issues that a number of people have had with interference on crimson sub-woofer cables.

It's worth keeping all cables as short as possible: the longer the cable the greater the chance of picking up interference.

Then it figures 20pounds for a crimson will be woth it then as the 5m has half of it rolled on itself, looks like an interference hazard having 2m of coiled cable.

xon501:Do you think it will benefit to change it with a crimson, as 5m is too long and I fear getting to much cables behind the rack, so need a shorter one and hope that in the process it will be a better one.

Impossible to say without doing a comparison between the two I'm afraid. However, if the main driver is to get a shorter cable, it can only be a benefit if it does sound better. Just make sure you don't get carried away on ebay and pay too much - brand new 3m Crimson cable looks to retail at about £26 - £27 including delivery.
