Hello,

I was previously using the Monitor Audio Bronze 2, and now I’m looking to upgrade to something larger. My listening room is 8x3 meters, and my amplifier is a Marantz PM7001.

At the moment, I’m considering the following options:
  • Canton Ergo 102 DC
  • HECO Aurora 700
  • DALI Ikon 6
Unfortunately, I don’t have the opportunity to listen to these speakers in person, so I’m finding it difficult to make the right choice. I would greatly appreciate any recommendations based on your experience and expertise.

I’m not particularly chasing high volume; I’m more interested in precision, attack, and the ability to capture dynamic impact with maximum clarity. I value deep, well-defined bass—where you can clearly hear the slap of fingers on acoustic guitar strings—as well as beautifully detailed and refined high frequencies.

I also highly value the ability of speakers to create a well-defined soundstage, allowing me to close my eyes and feel as if Jim Morrison is standing right in front of me, singing.

In terms of music preferences, I enjoy listening to: Cinematic Orchestra, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, The Prodigy, The Orb, MGMT, Led Zeppelin, Jefferson Airplane, and Jon Hopkins.

Thank you in advance for your advice!

Its probably impossible for anyone to help you. Which sounds better is subjective at the best of times. Add to this how they sound in your room is more important than if one performed better in the listening room of a shop.

However, there is a way forward. From the age of the products you are looking at, I take it you are buying second hand. Buy a pair and see how they perform. Providing you don't overpay, you should be able to sell them on at a similar price to what you paid.
