Choice Help - B&W vs Q Acoustics

HI All,

I am toying with buying the following Hi-Fi speakers, please can you guys give me your thoughts ?

Choice1 : B&W 685 http://www.whathifi.com/bw/685/review = about R1000 more

Choice 2: QAcoustics 2020I http://www.whathifi.com/q-acoustics/2020i/review

Are you living in sa? Anyway these are 2 speakers what is it your looking for with the sound? What amp do you have including source? Size of room, how loud do you like your music. What music you listen to. All these answers can help us to help you in what your after. Some people will say go for b&w and some qa so if you answer some of the points the right answer will come along but in order for you to be sure you need to decide for yourself as its you that has to live with them. My 2 cents worth: id go for the b&ws

Hi Alfred, i had the same dilemma. After a listening session i choosed the b&w, paired with arcam a19. Sounded better (for my tastes, of course). Depends more by your amplifier.

What amp? What music, what volume, what room size?

IMHO I don't think Arcam and B&W work well together. Im not a fan of B&W and have not heard QAcoustics. You need to hear them for yourself and many others if you can.

Actually the B&W 685s worked very well tonally with my Arcam Solo Mini - in fact I regret selling them now. The soundstage and clarity were excellent.
