I have been asked to help someone buy speakers for a PC. Budget is £20-£30.

I have no idea if a £20 set of speakers is even worth the price over a £5 set... Any advice?

Should I just tell him to get the cheapest set possible or how much would he need to spend for something slighlty decent?

It is worth paying a little more for a pair of these Creative Gigaworks T20 mk2 powered (active ? ) computer speakers .

I bought a pair recently second hand for £35 and they are very very good in fact I would go as far as to say that most non HiFi people would be satisfied with them for a main system they are that good !.

The bass is astonishing for the size and they create a very good stereo image with punch and good dynamic range , even at the new price they are a bargain and they have a very classy looking finish with good build quality .

I recommend them highly . :)
