I have an integrated amp with the following power output specifications....

both channels 50W into 8ohm

one channel 60W into 8ohm / 80W into 4ohm

(one set of speaker terminals)

Is the one channel something to do with bi-amping or just one pair of speakers connected to the terminals.....

Can someone explain this to me?

Yeah, I assumed that was the case but not quite the explanation I was hoping for.....

I agree with David, it is best ignored. But it means when on the test bench, you can get a bit more power from a single channel, usually because the power supply (transformer and caps) only need to support one channel not two.

The fact the output doesn't double (or approach double) into 4 ohms suggests it is a bit weedy to me. So I'd watch about matching it to any speakers with nominal 6 ohm or lower impedance.
