A sad day has occured ......The Dali 2.8 Suite had to go for various reasons I won't bore you with the details.......wonderful speakers and simply huge..........any way theyv'e gone.....The Roth's are upstairs.......downstairs the MA BR 2's run by the Rotel RA971 MKII ( which I love).

As much as I like the BR"2's I seem to have become too familiar with them...by which I mean I am after something with a fresher more alive sound and punchy with detail ,,,,great timing is also a must.I am after something new .....something with a bit of va va voom. sometimes the MA's don't lift the music like they should.......maybe it's the slightly vailed midrange......anyway whatever.

ok so the amp is staying i love it! so what's next........thinking about.....standmount

Arcaydis DM1's..........very tempting but not much info

Q acoustics 2020..........sideways' move?

B & w 685's.......oldy but a goody....

MS aviano 2............no idea

MA rx1.........£500......dear£££

EB1's to good for the Rotel ( but maybe not)...worth saving for.

anyway I can't audition many of these with my amp.....so any opinions of a good match with the Rotel would be apreciated.

I am leaning to taking a punt on the DM1's at the mo!

In agreement that the Arcaydis DM1's would be a worthy option but the M/A RX1's (at £400 NOT £500 (thats the RX2's) would also be a superb option.

The B&W 685's are worth an audition too as they are superb and will do well with the Rotel

My faves would have to be the M/A RX1's as they are great speakers and having heard these on the end of a few Rotel amps they sing VERY well indeed

Try the Leemas you can find on special at the moment at Sevenoaks. Not budget, and they sound it.

hey lads thanks for the replies. doh you are right the RX1's are £400 ...same as the Leema's.....which look like a great deal... the B and W's are also close to £400.mark...

so all good options........The Dm1's are £120 less .....and at the mo within budget...without oweing any £.....so do I save then buy.....or do I punt at the DM1's being in the same league as the Rx1'S, Leemas ...B & W

Not really much to go on as far as far as forum members owning the DM1's.....only WHIFI review really.....

I know you love them "upstairs", but how do they sound "downstairs"?

I was comparing the MA BR2's (we bought a pair many moons ago) to the Neo3 V2 in the office this afternoon - Will be interesting to see what the review team think, should find out around August! 🙂

Hard to say as I can't do anything on here constituting advertising, but I did like the BR2's more than I remembered (different listening room and equipment). They did very little wrong and were very enjoyable to listen to. I'd say the main differences were more mid attack in the Neo V2's and slightly more grunt (bigger box), with a more natural bass. The BR2's had a pleasant bass but it sounded a little "porty" - the metal tweeter had some nice sparkle too, a different flavour rather then either being drastically better really.
