I have heard from a few reviews that Cerwin Vega speakers are seriously good for Metal music.

Does anyone have any experience with Cerwin Vega??

Would I be mad to get rid of my B&W 705 and purrchase some. My music collection is 90% metal music.

What would i lose and what would i gain.

Please advise.

I'd say you'd be mad to change B&W for Cerwin Vega

You could always look at the lower range of B&W speakers like the B&W 684's or the 683's. You'll find that they are a better sound with better bass and midrange, better suited to Metal and Rock

They do need to be driven well though, what amp/CDSP combo have you got?

Linn Classik - I love this piece of kit!!!!

Ruark Vita 150 Subwoofer.

QED Cabling.

I quite like metal music with the 705 but people say Cerwin Vega do metal really well. Apparently they test their speakers with rock music. So im guessing they r a rockers speaker.

I am in two minds.

The 705 IMHO was nearly as good as the 805- 805 had a sweeter treble and bigger bass. so downgrading to the 600 series is not an option really.

So if you wont consider downgrading from the 700's to the 600's, why are you looking at Cerwin Vegas?

Hmm

Think i will stay with the 705s for time being.

Unrefined is not good but rythmic beats are.

I love the detail the 705s have.

Good... I'm glad haha...

You could always go for a barrage of amps and get some 802's...

They'll certainly rock your house!

I never heard them myself but yes, many reckon they are great with metal. My Amphion however do metal as well as HiFi stuff may be you should try them.
