I was in the garage today making a shelf to bolt to the back of the TV so that I can sit my centre speaker on.

It is a fairly basic design. a sheet of metal cut to size and bent at a 90 degree angle, it bolts to the back of the tv where you would normally mount a wall bracket and has a single adjustable leg at the back that sits on the unit to support the weight of the speaker, sprayed in satin black with a non slip mat to stop the speaker moving and falling off.

My question is, can you buy anything like this in the shop?

Nope.

You thinking of going into business Paul?

I was thinking when I started to make it that I have never seen any before and wondered why not, you cannot see the shelve as it sits level with the top of the tv and the support leg is at the back of the tv.

Would there not be much demand for them?

How many do you want david lol

It'd be ideal for people with TV's situated in a corner, especially if they don't have enough room on their AV rack for a speaker.

I'm afraid Frank will only deal with companies who have been in business a few years (proven track record), but don't see why you can't promote this yourself via certain avenues....

I was only joking lol, would not really have time to make loads. As work to many hours

Dont really get much time to enjoy the new sound system.

But the idea is out there for someone. The good thing about making them myself is that you can make it to the exact size that you want.

niche market..use vesa mounting as standard template...Making my own shelf, as found nothing (worthwhile) out there....seems somewhat strange!!

Dragons Den ????
