Centre speaker protection required...?

I just noticed that the heat coming from my reciever is transfering through the glass shelf above it (2.5" Gap) and making the bottom of the centre speaker warm, though not hot. The speaker is B&W HTM62 and I really wouldn't want to damage any sensitive electronic components inside of it. Is this something to genuinely worry about? I suppose I could put a granite table/place mat underneath it. Something like the one in the Argoose sale perhaps? Are these heat resistant or should I seek out a specific heat resistant one?.

Thanks.

I would have thought it would be fine but the granite place mats are quite cheap and would be quite resistant to the heat.

At least it would put your mind and rest and may even improve the sound......
