Centre Speaker Dilemma

Hi Folks,

Here's the deal- Recently I have become more and more aware that when playing movies, Dialouge and speech seem muffled, unclear and generally less focused than things like music, effects etc. This is starting to bug me and so I am thinking of upgrading my kit. Now here's the question: What will be the most worthwhile upgrade to improve my centre speaker performance?

Now obviusly my first instincy is to change my speaker package as my Jamos ( For my system see sig.) are quite small. I was thinking of maybe the or Q Acoustics 2000 Series[/color=#000000>KEF KHT3005SE-K2 or , nothing too big as I prefer smallish speakers. OR

Should I change my AV Receiver as superior sound processing might improve centre speaker performance?

or lastly (and this would be the cheaper option) I could by some high quality speaker cable.

I would welcome your feedback guys and gals

Cheers folks

I'd upgrade the speakers first - the Q Acoustics package mentioned should improve things considerably (though as always, go for an audition and have a listen for yourself to ensure you're happy - comparing the Q Acoustics with the KEF package should give you an idea of what the extra money gets you).

Sorry - I know nothin'

Denon 1906 - always thought it was my ears but centre channel always seems too recessed. Now a new Yammy 2065 and the whole system has come alive. (Thanks Frank). Brilliant steering and a solid centre. My speakers have at last woken up.

Slight angle upwards on centre also may help tho (free)

Cheers

Hi All,

Thanks again for the input guys

shekhar.royal - those speakers of yours look pretty good but is there anywhere I could auditition them?

RobinKidderminster- (Nice town by the way- Come on the Harriers!!) About the new Amp: hmmm I'm tempted cause I like my Jamos if only the centre performance could be improved. Things to mull over I think
