Not in the same league fella, like comparing a Mondeo RS with an Audi Quattro. One is classy and the other is good but just not got the same pedigree.

Sorry but that is just snobbery. Pedigree is of absolutely no importance. Its the sound/drive that counts not the badge on the bonnet/front panel. Arcam have made some brilliant kit, but they've also made some of the most average £500 amplifiers I've ever heard. All the pedigree in the world can't make the A70 an interesting amp. Okay if all you listen to is middle of the road easy listening stuff, but pretty useless for anything else. The Cambridge 740A leaves it for dead.
I've just picked up some speakers that were originally £400 for effectively next to nothing through work because they've never been promoted in the UK and they were quietly sitting in the warehouse waiting for someone to notice them. They are wedge shaped, cover an extended frequency range for SACD, and were developed in conjunction with B&W. So far, they beat every other speaker I've ever had here by a considerable margin for soundstaging, attack, clarity, detail, and just immersing you fully in the music. The badge on the front? Sony. Just goes to show - don't judge any book by its cover because you don't know what you could be missing out on.
