CD to Amp connector cable

CD to amp connector cables often come with arrows on the cables indicating the correct way to connect them. As in the arrow pointer indicates the flow from CD player to amp. Does it actually make any difference if you were to fit them in the opposite direction? Odd question I know but some connectors don't have the arrows. Thanks

No. 😊

End of thread. lol
Lol. I recall the guy in Richer Sounds saying the same to me when I bought the connectors. I have tried them both ways and I hear no difference. But surely the arrows are there for a reason? Or does it honestly not make a blind bit of difference?

It's so easy to get drawn into another cable debate, but take it from Mr Cableman, who's got tweeter boxes wired in the wrong direction.
It really makes no difference.

You rebel 👹
Seriously, I'm surprised at you going against the arrows.
(Don't tell anyone, but I can't go against my arrows).
I really didn't have a choice :sneaky:

I had it customised, one end of the cable is spade, this feeds into Dali speakers (banana slot already taken) while the other end of the cable is connected to the tweeter extension box. The terminals on the tweeter box can only accept 4mm banana plugs.

The supplier decided the arrow should point in the direction of the spade.

Just to serve my curiosity, I had used the cable in the correct arrow position in another setup (Klipsch/SMSL) and I tried it again in the opposite direction.
Shock horror! My ears couldn't pick up any sonic differences.

If my history is correct this direction thing for RCA cables comes from the vinyl era I THINK! all to do with the shielding. The cable isn't directional but the shielding that may be present needs to be at the correct end.

Why do you need two cables connected to the same terminal?

Ah good question.

I'm using Aluminium Ribbon extended tweeter boxes, these do the same thing as SW but for the high frequencies.

I have these set to 20khz and above, which are beyond the Dali silk tweeters. Unlike SW you connect to the RCA output on the amp, Tweeter boxes you connect directly to the speaker hence the additional speaker cables.

I have it set to 20khz but as I get older I may have it knock down to 10 or 15Khz :)

That's those (two core and screen) cables they describe as 'pseudo balanced' where the screen itself is open at one end.

(They identify the connected end - so that it can be connected to the device that will actually be providing the grounding for the screen - but, of course, no conductor is directional)

Thanks. First I have heard of them.
