About three months ago I bought a Marantz nr1200 amp and a pair of Monitor Audio Silver 50s. I’m loving it so far and have really enjoyed my music again. I’ve just ordered a CD6007 to go with it. What’s the best way to connect the two? Should I use phono leads or digital?

6007 is a very good player. Connect it straight to the cd input of your amp with phono leads.
If you connect it digitally, you’ll be using the DAC in your amp which I can’t see bettering the 6007.
If you’re planning to use the DAC in the amp, you can buy a cheaper player to use as a transport.

Thanks.

Both AKM chips, 4490 in the CD vs 4458 in the amp, apparently. Try with RCA first and if you want to do a comparison get an optical cable for less than £10. Probably a waste of money though as you most likely won’t be able to tell the difference.

Alternatively if you have a DVD or Blu-ray player with coaxial hanging about, or have one close to your system, you could use that as a CD transport and connect to your amp. I use my Sony 7200 Blu-ray player as a CD transport.
