CD Player time for a new one ?

My CD 73 T is playing up again & is not reading discs when its first put in .

The entire system is always on & warm ,(I do shut it down when I go on holiday) .

On restarting it last time the player is not reading discs until its been put in & out a load of times .

I ve been offerd a rega apollo for £450 new is this a good bet or should I go for a better player ie cyrius 6 ? .

Any thoughts would help .

Not heard the Cyrus sorry, but for that price would definately be worth a home audition of the Apollo

Have you tried cleaning the laser on the CD player? I believe this can be done fairly easily with the aid of a cotton bud.
Or buy a CD lens cleaner.....

Cyrus is a much brighter and tighter sound than an ARCAM but they sell well on fleabay if you don't like it!
