CD Player started making dodgy noise.

Hi, HELP.....my cd player has started to make a noise when it spins up.....sort of like a tisk...tisk..tisk.tisk noise when you place a disk into it. I'd not used it for a while and so it came as something of a surprise when it happened for the 1st time. Any idea what might be causing this and what would resolve it?? Ben

Sounds like its out of balance and hitting something as it spins.

Is the disc sitting flat and level when inserted?

Yep.......and it does it with different discs as well.
