I'm currently running my MA RX6 speakers with Denon AVR-2310. BD-player is PS3. Because I listen quite a lot also music, I'd like to add a cd-player to my set.

Should I buy Denon in order to make sure that amp-cd pair is optimal? Or would Marantz 6003 be better choice, as it is 5-star player according to WHF? Well Rega Apollo is my dream but more expensive... or should I just buy a separate BD-player which can then play also CD's?

If you were in my position, what would be your choice (and reasons, too)?

I put my rega apollo through the denon 2310 with my MA RX6's bi-amped and it sounded superb for a receiver. i would say demo the denon and the marantz, personally i would save up a bit and get the apollo, maybe look down the second hand route on flea bay.

Does Rega play MP3, WAV, WMA files? I guess Marantz can play these. The advantage of Marantz would be USB and the fact it is compatible with I-pod.

Nad also came up to my short list...

yes the rega does have MP3 and WMA Media capabilities, plus it has the Very latest Wolfson dual-differential DAC, as for the i-pod i would use the DENON ASD11R IPOD DOCK and run it through the denon 2310 using the Dock connection.
