I suspect CDs will be with us for a while yet.
They remain the de-facto world-wide standard for HQ audio storage and distribution.
It’s a bit pointless trying to sell the concept of streaming and downloads to people who don’t have net access, and there are millions of such people.
Most of them though will be able to play CDs one way or another.
You can also count me among those people who don’t see the point of spending good money on buying compressed downloads; not when I can stream at the same/similar quality via my pre-paid account with Spotify, and let someone else worry about backups and HDD crashes.
