Fragile, inconvenient and low quality: Why are cassettes making a comeback?
For a supposedly obsolete music format, audio cassette sales seem to be set on fast forward at the moment.
it has made a comeback..... Because some groups are making these available as a formatI cant see the format ever making a comeback wonder where they get the data from .
Sold mine only recently.....Glad I've still got my old cassette deck
I strongly suspect that measurements would say otherwise.you can listen to tapes with high quality sound equalling that of other formats.
I'm sure that if you run it through a lab, you'd be right. To my amateur ears, the sound quality is enjoyable.I strongly suspect that measurements would say otherwise.
And that really is all that matters - I just think it's quite a stretch to state that cassette can be an equal of CD etc.I'm sure that if you run it through a lab, you'd be right. To my amateur ears, the sound quality is enjoyable.
Record a CD onto a quality Type 2 cassette on a high end deck such as a Nakamichi and you'd be very close. And that really is all that matters - I just think it's quite a stretch to state that cassette can be an equal of CD etc.
No idea why you'd ever want to do that unless you still have a tape player in your car.Record a CD onto a quality Type 2 cassette on a high end deck such as a Nakamichi and you'd be very close.
And you're condemned to serial access, tape wear etc.No idea why you'd ever want to do that unless you still have a tape player in your car.
Recording onto inferior media, via whatever device, is always going to be detrimental.
understood. And you're condemned to serial access, tape wear etc.
I'm oot.
Beautiful! If you ever want to sell that, look me up!Me too, though its overhaul wasn’t cheap. A lovely thing to own, whatever one feels about the sound.
