Cassette tapes

It's nothing but a trend trip, and pretty insignificant to the vast majority of music lovers. It was a flawed format, chiefly useful for its portability both on foot and on the road, and although it could sound good using the right blank tapes and the right cassette deck, it's still compromised.

Still playing cassettes and vinyl here.
Though currently listening to Raye on Spotify.

For people with cassette player’s cassettes are a lower cost option to other formats.

A lot of new music is coming out on cassette as well as CD and Vinyl. Check HHV.de and there's a hell of a lot of tapes available proving that there's a market for them.
I still listen to tapes on a high end deck and the sound is very good. What's more recording onto a Type 2 ot Metal tape produces great sound quality (if the source is of good quality of course).

I've found at lot of really high end decks at car boot sales and flea markets which I was never able to afford (as a young man) back in the day. Having access to a Revox or a Nakamichi proves that you can listen to tapes with high quality sound equalling that of other formats.
