Hi

I have about 20 tapes I MUST keep and worry they will go the way of all tapes.

I have a tape deck (removed from the hi fi and in storage) I have a HDD. Is it a simple matter of connecting tape via RCA to Line In on my soundcard. (Asus D2X). Or do I need something else.

Should not be an expensive solution as it is only for 18 - 20 tapes.

Think the above *should* work. Will it?

Hi

Yes that's pretty much alll you need, apart from some software to record the tapes - if you don't have any I recommend downloading Audacity. I got very good results doing exactly what you're proposing.
