Cartridge for old Dual 505-2

Hi all,

Reading the thread about changing the cart on the Debut has got me thinking. Would replacing the standard Ortofon ULM cart on my 505-2 be worthwhile, or is the ULM arm going to be the limiting factor.

I'm not going to go mad, but wondered if an AT-95E would be suitable for the arm or whether I should just stay put - in these challenging times even £25 has it's uses!

The standard cart has a conical stylus at present...

Hm, I had an at95e on my Dual years and I actually marginally preferred the sound of my mate's with an OMwhatever - dunno if the standard was a five or a ten.

I'm not sure if mine is an OM - most people list the replacement styli as a "Dual 505-2" even though it's obv an Orty...
