Hi,

Got a KDL-46W4500 & Sony DVP-NS708 DVD player. Sync is enabled but the TV cannot locate any Bravia Sync devices... Connected via a Sony HDMI cable ...

Any ideas?

well what a total joke! Because I have MySky HD connected via HDMI Sony Bravia Sync does not work. Bravia Sync was a big reason why I bought Sony. This is a total joke as THOUSANDS connect Sky via HDMI.

Gutted!

Be sure to acivate HDMI Control on both the TV and the player. I have exactly the same equipment as you and Bravia Sync works fine. Player is connected to HDMI 1 socket.

Why sure you can get a Thank You :)

However Bravia Sync IS turned on and wih My Sky disconnected everything works perfectly. Looks like this is an issue Sony are aware of. My Sky HD kills Bravia Sync. Sony NZ confirmed this to me.

Sony say this .....

The problem would seem to be caused due to the SKY HD HDMI configuration which appears to interfere with other HDMI control products.Sony are aware of this and we are currently taking the matter up with SKY. Meanwhile you are able to select the other HDMI products manually via the TV input selector.. If a product has been connected that has the "Bravia Theatre Sync"or "Bravia Sync" function this may not operate correctly due to the SKYHD HDMI configuration.

A permanent solution to all of the above would be not to connect the SKYHD via HDMI but to use the COMPONENT connections instead, for more Component connection detail: You can get it all to work if you take out the HDMI link to the SKY HD box. Sony customer services called me yesterday after I sent an email to ask about this issue, but they said there is no update on this issue and they are waiting for a software soluton to be agreed with Sky.

That's a pain. I don't have this problem but I have everything running through my Sony receiver. I put it a bluray disc and no matter what input it's on, it all changes to my bluray settings.
