JohnDuncan:Especially if the file was 25 or 30fps, and the telly was playing 24...

How did you record the programme? Can you do that on the Humax? I though that if you record to usb on the tv that the drive had to be formated on that tv and the programme could only be watched on that tv. You can't take it somewhere else and watch it on another tv.

Do remember to watch with an open mind though - if you purely look for motion problems you will notice them, try to watch "normally" if you can and judge it based on that. I've heard loads of problems with many products over the years and in many cases people who were previously happy started inspecting with a fine-toothed comb and decided they had faults too... All plasmas will show "dithering" from 2 inches away, have motion issues with certain material - vertical pans in particular seem to faze many etc etc.

I will indeed, im not going to expect perfection, I watch a lot of sky hd sports etc, if the problems are so obvious even my gran would spot them then I wont be happy, but im hoping its things you wont really notice unless you look hard for them

I've just watched dragons den from my sky plus box and on the philips 9664 no panning issues also tried it on my samsung 19" and again fine. Sorry bit late to the debate.

I agree with AEJim all modern tv's have some sort of motion issues and you will find them if you look hard enough. If the motion was fine they wouldn't have all those gimmick options on them.

well i am happy to report that i still have no issues with motion on my V20, the picture is simply stunning and motion is a huge improvement over my old Pioneer 436SXE.

I have to say that I notice shimmering on my Kuro, but I think it's my eyes. I also noticed the same shimmering effect when I watched Inception at the cinema...

Of course when you cough, or indeed sneeze, your eyes are momentarily jiggled - maybe that's the cause...

perhaps we'll see a link up of resources between panasonic and beechams
