Can you suggest some Rega Planar P3 upgrades

I recently bought a second-hand Rega Planar P3 in excellent nick but it needs a new cartridge. I would like to eventually do some low cost upgrades to it without going down the whole Origin Live path. Will be using it with a Gram Amp 2SE when it arrives. Looking to spend no more than £150 on a cartridge. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Depends on the sound you like really - Denon DL110, Audio Techinca AT440MLa, Ortofon 2M Blue, Goldring 1022GX, also the 1012GX which should still be in your budget. Not forgetting the Goldring 2000 series, which is rather newer. All are well rated and some arguably worth half as much again IMO.

The main thing is to avoid a bright sounding cart, something pretty neutral would be ideal. I hadn't looked at the AT440mla as I was considering the Ortofon 2M Blue but will check them all out, cheers.
