Can bi-wiring actually result in worse sound than single wiring?

I have 2 runs of Kimber 8TC speaker cable which are more than twice as long as I need and they are currently single-wired to my Spendor S6e speakers which are bi-wirable (but I am using homemade 8TC jumpers to bridge the two sets of binding posts). The sound quality is extremely good and I am thinking of going back to bi-wiring like I did with my Odyssey 4 by cutting the two runs into 4 runs and reterminating etc. This will also cut down on the amount of cable coiling behind my hi fi rack. My question is - I can't possibly worsen the sound by bi-wiring, or can I???

not unless you were using cable half as good - the fact that the cables the same and running twice the amount of copper i would be veru surprised if it sounded worse

also not great to coil large amounts of speaker cable especially if all tied round your power cables at back of system

i did this for a while and manged to generate some hum now run extra length of cable down back of sofa in figure of 8 and hum gone again

If the cables are the same then biwiring will almost certainly be better (No worse)

But a decent single wire will beat a poor biwire cable
