Cambridge Minx Xi Alternatives

Dear all,

I'm a hifi newbie and was interested to buy a Minx Xi. However, it looks like this system can't be delivered any more. I suppose it will be replaced by a new model ?

Does anyone knows good alternatives for the Minx Xi ? I would like to play internet radio, my itunes collection,...

Not sue why you say this, its available on the Richer Sounds website and in store.

As for alternatives, the Marantz MCR610 always gets good reviews and it is in the process of being replaced with the 611 so the 610s are heavily discounted.

Perhaps not in the UK? Distribution and costs are very different elsewhere.

A Sonos Connect:AMP does almost exactly the same thing and has a better app/UX than the Cambridge, though lacks hi-res support (which personally would not worry me).

If you need something rather more hifi-looking, the Marantz would be my choice.

I will have a look @ the Marants CR511, since I don't need a CD player. Will go to a shop on Satuday for some testing.

What speakers can be adviced ? I would like to spent 200 or 300€...

I'd avoid buying a Marantz streamer until the problems are resolved (see other posts on board).
