I'm thinking of buying the Cambridge CXa81 to replace the QUAD system. It will be a good option?

Only you can judge that.
There are those that say that all well designed amps sound similar. Both your Quad and the Cambridge are well designed. I would be amazed if you come to the conclusion that they sound similar.
