It would have been nice to have had the Cambridge Audio CXN100 benchmarked against its nearest competitors, say possibly the Eversolo DMP-A8?

The A8 is 2000 pounds

If this had HDMI input with volume control via HDMI CEC, the lack of remote would be less of a pain than the the thought of using the digital inputs on this to connect a TV and having to hunt for an app to control the volume.

I agree. I messaged Cambridge Audio a few months back and ak if they were intending to support HDMI in upcomng CX hardware. Didn't get a response. Which was pretty (profanity deleted by moderation) since I'm a good customer who already has the CX amp, streamer and CD transport
