Cambridge Audio A1 + Arcam Alpha 9 combo?

I am coming back on this issue. The lay-out is now back to the arcam alpha 9+9P combo in the study. Could I use a preamp (say, the delta 110) as a source selector, feeding the alpha 9 through the AUX input. Would that work?

It can be an easy fix. These amps are so old now, they will show signs of wear. The Delta is even older, don't understand buying a plethora of really old stuff when the OP could sell all that & just purchase something like the A39.

Repairing these dinosaurs is like telling your granny to go shopping wearing a thong. (Eek)
