Hello my friends ,

I am searching an integrated amp to my system I got a good recomendatitons for the CA products , I have to admit that I have a very limited budget : Is there a big differnce between the CA 740A to his big brother 840A ? Is it worth to pay more for it or the 740A Can make almost the same job :quest:

Also I have a turntable and a phono stage is needed to for the amp , the same question Is the CA 540P as good almost his big bro CA 640P ? My budget can barely afford CA 740A +CA540P is it a big compromise compare to the CA 840A+ CA 640P :quest:

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP

Using the bass and treble controls results in a deteriation of sound quality. It is far better to use the "direct" option otherwise I wouldn't purchase.. The bass and treble controls on this amp only make a v small difference to tonality anyway. Not enough for your "poor quality vinyl" I would think.

Why don't you go into richer sounds and demo!.

Hi ,

the integreted amp is not only for my turntable but also for my CD and to connect my YAMAHA RXV757 7.1 receiver to it so

the CA will function as power amp for my floorstanding main speakers (probably I will take my GE to an early retirment... )

Won't you recomend for the CA740A for it ? the roksan kandy k2 will be better ?

:help:

A dem will solve the problem, but I did suggest this on a different thread the OP opened.

FWIW I think tone controls are beneficial for poor recordings, but in terms of whether it's faithful to the original recording is another subject. Plus adding a graphic equalizer to the proceedings may overcook the whole presentation.

Hi ,

the CA has bi wire/ 2 zone option , bass and treble control but no phono input the Roksan has a good phono input but no

bi wire/ 2 zone option neither bass and treble control . For my neeeds I think CA is a better option for me . what do you think is it a big compromise compared to the roksan in terms of sound quality ?

Any comments freinds ?

Not sure what a 2 Zone option is. Usually, like with my Arcams, you have tone controls and a by-pass facility. However, I do think the only way you'll know which amp is right is to book a dem at Richer Sounds. You may find the overall quality of the Roksan to be just right.

Yes, there is a big difference between 740A and 840A V2.
I had the 740A and switched to 840A V2.
It is like there is much more bass in 840A V2.
Also the sound stage is extremely wide compared to 740A.

If you just listen to 740A in isolation, the amp sounds great and you will probably be able to live happily with it if you buy it.
But that's only because you don't know what listening to 840A V2 is like :)

Is it worth the extra money?
Well, to me it was.

Hope this helps.

Best,
Henrik

Hi Freinds !

I see that there are different opinions comparing the CA 840A to the ROKSAN KANDY K2 , Do you think that the ROKSAN KANDY K2 is better than the CA 840A in stage presentation . detailed sound , bass and dynamics ?

Thanks for your reply I am realy in a big dilemma what to buy ... :wall:
