Cambridge 640 amp+ cd OR marantz 6002 amp + cd FOR THE SAME PRICE: what do you buy ?

Hello i can have for the same price this 2 configuration for my monitor audio br2.I listen especially classical music and jazz,and sometimes pop.

IMO BR2s sound too harsh with the marantz amp. The CD player is great for the money though.

at first i thought marantz but i listened to the cambridge set up back to back and prefered the cambridge and i dont speak french.

Marantz partnered with BR2s will be way too bright for my tastes. I don't like the 640cdp either...
So for me it would be a lesser of two evils, so I'd pick the Marantz cdp and the Cambridge amp. Preferably I'd take NAD gear over either set-up. I do like the 6002 amp, just not with those speakers. Tricky!

I have the Cambridge Audio 640 Amp and 640 CD player, and would definitely recommend them - plenty of depth and detail in the sound.

I have both the Marantz CD6002 and PM6002 with the B&W 685, great scale sound.

If you listen loud all the time, I'd buy the Cambridge. Otherwise the Marantz.
