Pistol Pete1:Ok, I'm stumped now.......even after deleting unused freeview channels, I still have the problem!!
Just a thought: Doesn't your Sony 890 update the Freeview+ guide at 3am and again at 10am every day when in Standby? It may have re-added all those possibly conflicting channels that you carefully deleted last night?
Other than that, perhaps it is a Sony firmware update issue as I think Clare suggested earlier - I remember when I had a Sony Freeview tuner, Sony issued firmware updates quite frequently (15 firmware updates over the life of that product). In light of the recent major freeview retune, maybe Sony issued a firmware update recently to keep the 890 compatible - and maybe they've inadvertantly introduced some other (possibly HDMI) compatability/handshaking issues?
If all your other HDMI sources still work faultlessly with your 2310, it just seems to me that the cause of your problem probably lies elsewhere. Other than the above I can't think what it might be, but to my mind, simply unplugging your 2310 for a week or two wouldn't really seem likely to be the cause unless, with the absence of power, it's reset itself to it's default/factory settings in some way... but presumably you've already double-checked your settings, input assignments etc.
I'm out of ideas... Good luck!
