I wonder what I would use the wooden chord box for.

2.5mm sq. oxygen free copper cable for the speakers and oxygen free copper cable interconnect with quality gold plated plugs with strain relief for the low level connection.

I also recommend going to a pro music store and get what the professionals use rather than a Hi Fi dealer. (Unless you have really good relationship with your local Hi Fi dealer)

I'll recommend a basic interconnect and 79 strand or at a push 500 strand speaker cables. Fwiw, we use these cables with Silver RX6's and also Platinum Series of speakers.

In English - as Rick says, don't spend too much on cables. Unlikely that you will gain much with £250 on cables. Others may disagree ofcourse so go for sale or return.
