Has anyone got any suggestions on solutions to hide speaker cables along the tops of skirting boards? Unfortunately can't go under as a solid oak floor is in the way.
What about behind? Means taking the skirting off, but if you've got a new floor coming that's probably going to happen anyway - a lot of skirting is not flat at the back but has a channel behind it - whether that channel is big enough to accommodate your proposed cable is dependent on the cable, obviously.
Also makes changing cables a bit tricky............
I hate cables showing and this is a bit drastic but I have used it before to hide cables. Hire a cable router with vacuum as to get rid of all the dust and cut a channel in the plasterwork. Or aternately use a hammer and chisel (hard work) Attach the cables into the channel with cable clips and replaster. It all depends on whether you are redecorating the whole room (house) etc and how much of a perfectionist you are!
