Buzzing on tv sound

I bought a new Philips 32PFL96 LCD tv last year. I had it replaced because of the high pitched sound from a capacitor in the power supply when the tv is switched off at the set (not the wall).
The replacement still has the high pitched sound but, it is not noticable unless we are standing next to it so I can accept this without a problem.
However, there is an annoying, variable buzzing that comes through the speakers when the tv is showing white text on a black background for example. This buzzing differs in pitch and volume depending upon what we are watching and what source is supplying the picture.
I have found playing DVDs through the HDMI connection to be worst. If I connect the DVD player with a scart instead the buzzing is not as noticable.
If I use headphones the buzzing is not there.
I can live with the buzzing as viewing things at normal volume covers it and the hassle of packing up and returning the television is a nightmare. Beware buyng from Amazon without checking where the goods are coming from as our tv came from Germany. ALthough, there was not a problem having it replaced they would not supply me with fresh packaging material and box (I had thrown mine out as it was quite big to keep lying around).
This sounds like what used to be apparent on old crt tvs when there was a lot of contrast on the picture.
Any ideas anyone??
Thanks in advance for any 'easy' suggestions. I do have an extended warranty and could see if anything could be done using this provided I get an engineer from this country to look at it without having to send it away.

No real ideas but if it's amy consolation one of my Panasonics does exactly the same buzzing trick when the credits role at the end of a movie (white text on black background). Worse with freeview than with DVD (via component).
