Hi,

I'm not going to lie, i am a complete amateur when it comes to audio equipment so what i'm asking may sound a bit stupid but..

I'm looking at getting a pair of decent quality speakers (£150-200) to play my music through my laptop on iTunes. I was just wondering if:

1. With playing my music through my laptop, does my sound card on the laptop put a cap on the quality of sound i get regardless of the standard of speaker??

2. Would the Wharfedale Diamond 8.1's prove a good option in my position?

3, What are other good options for speakers that do not require an amp?

Any help would be superb, thanks.

Why would you spend that sort of cash.

I gots these :

For my tv as the LG 1080p 22" as does not have that greatest of sound, and the above is like WOW OMG for the cash

And for my pc :

The above seriously shakes my head, better than any other 2.1 I have heard and its THX as well.

Audioengine 2's are incredible, I use them in the kitchen and everyone remarks how good they sound for the size.

Heartily recommended!
