Buying In the EU?

Moved to Europe a couple months back, from the U.S. New apartment, TV shopping. And ...

OUCH :help:

Prices here are a good 25 - 30% higher than anything U.S.

Of course some of it is VAT but still ... even discounting that, it's all still sky high. Not finding good sites either, at least not the way Amazon.com has deals. For what would be $600 back home, I get precariously close to a grand equivalent in cost, here.

Anybody have experience buying TVs here in the EU? Best places to shop? Buy online? Go to a cheaper VAT country, bring it back home in the trunk?
