Buying A Replacement Hi Fi System - Any Advice?

It's been a while since I purchased any hi fi so I'm completely flying blind. And would like some feedback on what I'm thinking of getting.

I'm geting an amplifier and speakers. From the reviews that I've read, I have so far arrived at the following choices:

Amplifier - Rotel RA-04SE or Pioneer A-A6

Speakers - Arcaydis DM1 or B&W 685.

Any ideas or improvements? Hoping to keep within a budget of upto £700 if possible.

I listen to various types of music including rock / jazz / dance. Never to classical or opera.

The only advice I can give is listen and see what takes your fancy. Both the amps are very good, although very different.
