Burning for Buddy, Volume 1 is a 1994 Buddy Rich tribute album produced by Rush drummer/lyricist Neil Peart. The album is composed of performances by various rock and jazz drummers, all accompanied by the Buddy Rich Big Band.

BTW my favorite tracks on the tribute disk are Omar Hakim's Slo Funk and Neil Perth's Cotton Tail.

I'm not that much into big band but it's fun to blast it out occasionally.

If you watched the movie Whiplash, the main character was a young jazz drummer, a student, that wanted to be like the legendary jazz drummer Buddy Rich.
Mind you, this is drumming prior to speed metal and rapid fast double foot peddals.
