budget loud system!

Hi there

First post, but have read around alot - been looking at reviews

however still can't dicide. i'm after either ipod speaker (dock) orr an amp with speakers (or i have some arcam three speakers, no idea on spec! - there old!)

don't really want to spend more than £200 and tbh quality is not a big deal for me.. i don't really think i'll be able to tell. however loudness is!

they got to be loud for parties etc.. and obviously be able to hook it up to an ipod.

so in short, whats the best Loud speaker system for my ipod..<£200 ?

If you're not worried about the sound quality and its to be used for parties, I'd recommend looking at PC type 2.1 speakers as you'll want a decent amount of bass.

Logitech Z-2300 or Acoustic Energy Aego M, both around £100.

Apple iPod Dock + Remote will be around £20.

Alternatively, go second hand on eBay and get a nice powerful NAD C320BEE/Marantz KI/Arcam Alpha amp for around £100 and then spend £100 on second hand speakers, maybe something like Monitor Audio BR2 or Wharfedale Diamond 9.1.

Don't forget a decent interconnect for the iPod (spend no more than £15 on this - use the line out on the dock) and speaker cable - Chord SilverScreen at about £4 p/m seems well recommended on here.
