The LG 32LH2000 is currently £299.99 at Currys, not sure if you're going to get a much better deal than that for a branded 32" LCD.

Rather than start a new thread I thought I'd add to this one.

I want to get a 32" tv, ideally for less than 400, this will replace a 20" iMac which is our TV at the minute. An old powerbook G4 will become the media server as such. we'll be about 2-2.5m from the screen. When watching a DVD I can lift it down onto the table in front of the sofa, as I do with the iMac at the minute.

I mainly watch some freeview, tv recorded using my elgato eyetv box, which would be played back from my mac using a DVI-HDMI cable. I plan on getting an Onkyo 406 as an upscaling DVD player, but have no real interest in bluray atm, I don't have a games console and can't see myself getting one. Hence buying a full HD 37" plus tv is not really worthwhile. Audio will come from the existing amp and speakers and perhaps a set of KEF eggs plus amp after we move later in the year.

The newer Sony 32s5500 seems interesting and on offer at Richer Sounds, but un-reviewed as far as I know.

The Samsung LE32a456/a457 seems to be gone

The sony kdl32v4000 seems to be around, but scarce

The Toshiba 32av555 seems scarce too

What would you recommend, many of the reviews highlight HD sources, but I'll mainly be watching SD material

thanks

You could grab a Samsung 32B450/451 for £334.95 at Richer Sounds, it's the replacement to the 32A456/457.
