Hello, I'm a new user here, far away from Indonesia 🙂

I have stereo set with MA BX2 speaker and PM6003 amp. But I found it very lack of bass on my room.

I plan to add sub to my system, but with limited budget. After searching, I got two option available in my country:

- Wharferdale SW150 for 223 pounds (not include delivery).

- Monitor audio BRW10 for 252 pounds (delivery already included)

I cant do a listening test since the dealer is out of my town.

I read some positive review of SW150, while the BRW10 seems to be lack popular on some reviews and tests. But what's confusing me is BRW10 is used to be much more expensive before the new bronze series (BX) comes (around 400pounds, cmiiw). And also, some test might not mean anything when it comes to listening it. That's makes me think brw10 is a very good offer for that price.

Anyone could give some advice here? Thanks

I had a BRW10 as part of a 5.1 system. Whilst it's not bad. It was quite the weak link and I think you could do better. Is used / ex demo / eBay open to you. ? If so REL subwoofers offer good performance for affordable costs.

I dont know if I can find REL easily here. Since i'm on budget, buying from ebay will cost me more on custom and delivery I suppose. Thanks for the insight on the brw10 anyway richard 🙂

I also found the BR sub the weak link in the system, and bought a REL instead. I apreciate REL may be hard to find for you, but what ever you find, a high level input which connects directly to the amps speaker out is a benifit for music.

Is the amp output wont be affected if the sub is connected that way? :? I'd like to try then.

Everybody suggest REL so I should start looking for it here I guess.

But return to the question, assume I was given the same price tag, should I get SW150 instead of BRW10? :?

I have not tested the wharfdale so cant coment, but in the UK the SW150 regularly sells at £150 and the BR used to go for £300 ish. Obviously these prices are irelivant to you, just wanted to give you an idea of their relative price differance.

Another option is to look at at BK subs. They have one to cover most budgets. You buy from the manufacturer so it likely you get a bit more from your money. From your posts you're not in the uk. They will post overseas and specify postage costs on their site. The Gemini II looks likely in your budget. It's an idea but how it will fare in partnership with the BX2s I'm not sure.

Sorry. Just re-read and see you're in Indonesia. The postage charge from BK is probably pretty hefty. The SW150 got a great review from What HiFi and it might prove just what you want. http://www.whathifi.com/Review/Wharfedale-Diamond-SW150 It's currently available for 150£from Superfi here in the UK.

Thanks Paul and Richard, none of you recommend me to go with BRW 10, so I guess I should buy SW150 then, or seek for another option.
