Hi everyone
I have onkyo 9030 and planning to buy new speakers.
I listen to bronze 2 in a local store today( it was good but not sure good for 30m2 room)but demo wasnt available for silver 2. Do you think buy silver 2 worth extra money over bronze2 in term of sq and volume? (exactly double price)
Thank you in advance

This is just my opinion but there are much better options than monitor audio.

They are both rubbish
One slightly worse than the other

I use bronze 2s and they have no prob in a 30m square room, just try keep them a foot or so from the wall behind them. Can't comment on the silvers

Richer Sounds have the silvers (in Walnut) at 20% off (code SILVER20).
I was about to say the same! Doubtless because the revised Silver range - confusingly with a gold tweeter - was announced today at the Munich show.

Worth checking out the old range, but the old Q series KEFs are also going at bargain prices. In any event, 30 square metres is a pretty big space to fill - can you accommodate floor standers? Maybe something like QAcoustics 3050? (I realise they're a bit pricier). In any case, essential you try at home, on sale or return.

The Silvers are more expensive for a reason: They are better than the Bronze, assuming you have amplification to make the most of them.

This is where my logic stops short: Not heard the Onkyo amplifiers.

Best advice is to have a home dem (preferred) or, at the very least, hear them with your amp in the shop.

distance from the speakers be. From my poor experience of placing large speakers in small rooms. I would rather place a small speaker in a large room and sit closer. Then do the opposite and sit in the next room.

Do you have access to Focal Aria 906? It goes well with a wide range of amps, it's not fussy about positioning, and should be cheaper then ls 50

Consider monitor audio GX 50 if available. I loved it's tweeter and the sophisticated looks when I auditioned it. Though some members didn't seem to like it. It is included in 'The absolute sound' hall of fame list for a reason. But yes, the focal's are supposed to be unfussy about partnering kit, unlike the GX 50.

The onkyo is supposed to have a slightly lower bass output. So if I were you, I would go for something with atleast a 6 inch mid bass driver. And hope it sorts out the bass. Just something to bear in mind if you go to a dealer for a audition. Compare between different speakers in the same model family with different driver sizes.

And congratulations on electing Mr.Rouhani again :)

Judging by the fact that I had the Bronze BX2, and now the older RX1 Silver, I'd say the Silver series everytime. Note you'd need a bit more space for the Silver 2s - their bass driver being much larger. Also note brand new Silver series is out...
