Recently invested in an Audio-Technica AT-LP70XBT turntable for my partners birthday. Not being exactly an audiophile, but with a large vinyl collection she longed to hear again, I chose the deck to bluetooth through her Bose 5 sound bar. I realise many of you are now spinning at considerably more than 33 rpm at the thought, but bear in mind the vinyl, even to my untrained eye, had seemingly doubled as a beer mat. So! linked it up and played SLAYED. It was awful! muddy, indistinct etc. I then tried a brand new Joe Bonamassa 180gm album, Blues deluxe.(another pressie) WOW! what a difference, but even I could hear the lack of space and boom the bose (despite adjusting bass) produced. We have decided to invest in new 180gm remastered pressings of her favourites over time, but more importantly, some speakers. I liked the look of the q audio3020i passive speakers currently very well priced but would need to connect these via bluetooth amp? I would welcome any suggestions you have bearing in mind this present is growing beyond its original purse!!

If you like lossy compression, stick to the Bluetooth. It uses 320 kbs (SBC) but if you get a APTX adaptive receiver, it will do 420 kbs at its best. As a reference CD is 1411 kbs.
You might wonder if it helps to spend money on 180 gr only to have it converted to a MP3 style codec.
You are not forced to use Bluetooth, the AT offers RCA out as well.
However, getting some better speakers does make sense even when using Bluetooth.
