I’m planning to buy my wife a turntable for Christmas, and would like to get something that’s “decent”, that she’ll like the look of, but very importantly, that can work with Bluetooth speakers, or Airplay.
My two initial thoughts are to get something like the all-in-one Audio Technica AT-LP120XBTUSB which has Bluetooth built-in , or to spend a bit more on the yellow Technics SL-1200M7LBY and get a Bluetooth-enabled pre-amp for that.
The first option seems simpler and is likely good-enough for how it will be used (it’s not going into a dedicated listening room with high-end speakers for “active” listening) but I suspect the Technics is the better turntable, looks nicer, and may be the better choice if we are keeping it for decades.
I’d welcome any thoughts or advice on these or other options.
