Bluesound Node optical in switching query

Not sure if anyone's tried this but if they have, if I'm using the optical in on a Node, do I have to go into the Bluesound App and switch the input in some way if I want to go from that to using Tidal Connect with the Node as a streamer or will it auto detect what I'm doing / which is playing?

Bluesound Players can automatically switch the audio source to the externally connected Digital Input (Optical, Coaxial, or HDMI) when a valid signal is detected from a TV, CD Player, or any other ...

Brilliant ... thank you for that, I wonder how well it works in real life.

I have another streamer that's better for groups / multiroom and it'd mean I could use it's optical out into a Node then USB out so they both end up using the same DAC and also the input on my amp and just be easier if it autodetects
