Black vs Coloured ?

Black vs coloured vinyl.

As in sound quality, pyhisical longevity ?

Any thoughts , experiences or observations ?

PVC ( Vinyl ) is clear with added carbon black for same colour as Shellac 78s from the 50s

Clear pure vinyl Clarity/UHQR is very expensive

Probably not much difference these days. The old picture-disc Lps were considered noisier than their black cousins but these days it's hard to attribute that quality. I have a few coloured LPs and even a marbled one and none are particularly noisy.

I feel longevity will be similar likewise.
