I used to come on here a lot as some may remember and back at the beginning there were some big old hairy fights over cables and fuses and interconnects. Now people just talk about foxes and strange recordings that readers of Grammaphone would find appealing.

What is this place coming to? Where is the show? The fights were epic, they had the right side, the wrong side, the eductated side, the deaf side, the blind side and the B-side. I'm be-side myself.

But now it's all just foxes. I think the crew that man the firestation have found another way to chill the threads down.

Are threads a kind of cable? Can we talk about whether you can get snake skin threads? Are they a type of shoe? Do I need to believe in them to be able to wear them on both feet? My feet will feel a lot less cold with a nice pair of snake oil lubricated snake skin shoes.

Oh hell, I've given it away. We were supposed to be talking about foxes. And there I was, thinking all the fights on the forums had come to an end. Heeheeeheee, no. Just another new set of little soldiers, taking the fight to the other side. Ahhhhhh the joy of just observing. It's how a weekday evening should be spent. Have a good fight fellas. Let me know when you're done. And if you get time, before you get done applying savlon to those nasty cable and fuse injuries, could someone update me on Onkyo's plans to launch their high end amp range this summer and perhaps also some news on the new iPhone and whether Logitech will lower the price on the 1100 Harmony. Much more fun than the fighting, if I do say so myself.

There is actually a sound physiological reason for it, but you don't want to know, and neither do the moderators.

Foxes here in Oz tend to keep quiet - else they are shot as vermin... 🙂

Frogs, judging from our garden last weekend.

Squirrels, in my case. Would shoot the litle pests if I had a gun. Which I don't.

We've got lots -We love the squirrels- trouble is so do the foxes. Picked up many a decapitated half-devoured squirrel in the garden.

Must be the Credit/squirrel crunch.
 
Yes but red squirrels not grey ones. I believe, and this is down to my own personal belief system that the sound a red squirel makes when chewing nuts is superior to the sound of grey squirels. Now I can prove this using a strange collection of birds, bridals and a microwave oven but I know you all trust my instincts anyway. Oh and I love red squirels braided tails. It improves the sound of their chewing no end. Especially their balance. Braided tails on red squirels for good balanced chewing. Yum.
 
Pigeons seem to be plaguing us at the moment. The greedy blighters eat all the food put out for other birds.

Mine are the flat variety- far superior for overall crackling sound in the frying pan.

Good point. I'll take all my braided squirel tails to the butcher to be bashed flat, whence they'll sound quite superior to my highly trained ear. But I always insist on unidirectional braided squirel tails. It's terribly important. You see, if you don't then the sauce gets confused and doesn't know at which end of my plate to go, and the sizzling sound in the pan get's all muddied. Don't people understand the importance of directionality in squirel tails?
 
Our local, rather eccentric Italian restaurant, has an occasional (seasonal?) special of Squirrel Ravioli, which is delicious. I'm particularly fond of its description on the menu as 'acorn-fed'

Clare do you think being acorn fed has the same impact on the taste of your squirel ravioli and the sound it makes when you bite in and chew, as, say using a mains conditioner or perhaps silver plated fuses which lets be honest, a squirel could easily mistake for a nut and consume. Bbe like finding an old silver penny in the Christmas pudding 🙂 Oh damn. I mentioned electronics. I'm sorry. Send me to the sin bin pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease.

How can you chew on a cheeky little nut-kin squirrel (sheds manly tear down one cheek)

I'll not have a bad word said about those cuddly, feathery rascals! Pigeons put our household on the road to HD TV heaven, I'll have you know! Work that one out!
