There are definitely better carts out there for the money. Try and find your old cart out, and I’ll stick a stylus in it, see if you gain anything from that. Comparing it to a Nagaoka, the ts12 I have is a much nicer musical cart. The only other reference I have is the 2m bronze which was on the gyro se. Biased but this sounded the best.

Don't like Ortofons, can't find any reviews of the Nago TS12. Goldring is a firm favourite and a safe choice as it stands.

bigfish786 Moderator Jan 29, 2013 872 789 19,770 Jan 16, 2018 #4 The nagaoka I have is quite old, I bought it from a guy on gumtree. Unused, it has a boron cantilever and a quality stylus. It’s probably similar to the mp300 . There’s plenty of choice out there when it comes to carts.
