As I seem to have caught the headphone bug I want to add a set of these to my burgeoning collection but can't decide which version to get. I will listen to them mainly from my hi fi which is more than capable of driving them so my gut feel is to get the 250 ohm version. However there may be occasions when I will use them from my iMac or iPod classic and wonder whether they will struggle with these?

I have invested in a Fiio E5 and wonder whether I should get the 80 or the 250. Advice welcome please.

If it wasn't for the E5 I would say get the 80 version, as it is I would probably still go for the 80 for convienience. What amp have you got on your hifi?

I use an E7 to occasionally drive my 80ohm DT770's and it does a fairly good job, not sure I would want to try a 250 ohm pair off it though. I have tried a 300ohm pair of hd-650's from it and the results are poor to say the least. I would recommend the 80ohm versions personally.
