Better than Denon DM-37?

Hi

I am looking for new micro system in my living room, and read a review in a Swedish magazine (hifi&musik) which said that a new Phillips system (mcm-906) with a tube amplifier is much better than the much praised Denon dm-37. It would be interesting if anyone had listened to this system and could share their experience of the system with us!

Given the popularity of the Denon system, I also think that WHF should arrange for a comparison in between this new Phillips and Denon as soon as possible.

I personally have never heard of this system and all that google searches have produced here in the UK is that it was announced around August of last year and that's about it, plus a bit of tech info. It's not even listed on ebay so guess it hasn't actually even been launched yet.

It's on sale in Scandinavia; my local dealer should have it within a week or two...

Sorry, but I can't read Norwegian! It looks a good set up and hope you can do a comparison between the two. As I always say, I'm thrilled with my Denon and nothing I've heard comes close yet, although I haven't heard the just released Cambridge Audio One. Can you buy the stand alone unit or do you have to have the Philips speakers with it? No good if you can't IMO.

One has to buy the speakers, but the review says that are quite good.....

The Philips unit is something we haven't seen yet in UK, whereas the Denon is well tried and tested. Would seriously recommend a comparisn of the two if your local dealer can do it for you.
